Ability of engineering undergraduates to solve real function limit problems

The society of the 21st century requires training engineers capable solving problems in applications limit real functions. In this paper, mathematical skills three engineering degrees belonging to 2019 cohort a public university is analyzed. objectives study are investigate undergraduate students problems, defined according their nature routine and non-routine, context, real, realistic, fantasist purely mathematical. Also, identify characterize types addressed, solicit opinion about level difficulty involving functions on prior knowledge that they need achieve better performance resolution. Students from different programs volunteered participate study. evaluation tool used consisted function application problem test, which was content validated by eight experts field, an open-ended questionnaire. results favor contexts, even guarantee development necessary solve non-routine limits.
